  • Overview

    Responsible for providing leadership and oversight for field production operations by overseeing production activities of employees and contractors.

    Responsibilities

    • Administers company policies relating to regulatory and EH&S compliance, and ensures that ongoing operations and working practices of employees and contractors are in a manner consistent with Breitburn’s EHS policies.
    • Daily field presence in order to provide oversight and direction for ongoing production operations.
    • Maximizes production at a minimum cost.
    • Reviews daily production and injection levels with field operations personnel and determines the actions required to effectively maintain output levels.
    • Ensures that field operations activities are completed in timely fashion (well service, well work, facility projects) in a cost effective manner.
    • Interacts with landowners as well as governmental agencies in a professional, articulate and tactful manner.
    • Understands and performs routine maintenance on field production equipment.

    • Represents employees under his supervision to management and maintains a productive work environment.

    • Coordinates with contract crews, trucking firms, and other services.

    • Reviews and properly codes invoices for processing in time frame that meets accounting guidelines.

    • Mentors and coaches junior operators.

    Qualifications

    • High School Diploma/GED
    • Working knowledge and ability to utilize MS Office and other computer programs.
    • Possesses a valid driver’s license.
    • 10+ years’ experience with Oil Field work or equivalent understanding.

    • Experience operating and maintaining conventional oil and gas wells.

    • Ability to troubleshoot complex issues and work under pressure.

    • Mechanical or instrumentation background helpful but not required.
    • Trained in operating all oil and gas wells, pipelines and facilities.

    • Must comply with DOT and safety sensitive regulations.

    • History of being dependable.
    • Good working knowledge of production facilities such as heater treaters, free water knock outs, pumps, water injection, and well diagnostic equipment.

    • Has an excellent working knowledge of facility processes, pumping and downhole operations to analyze and solve production and facility related problems.
