  • Overview

    Under the direction of the Production Accounting Supervisor, gather, maintain and audit oil and gas production data using various software applications and databases so that all production data is provided accurately and timely to internal departments, regulatory agencies, and third parties requiring information.

    Responsibilities

    • Track production of crude oil and natural gas from separate leases using Breitburn’s Production Accounting System (BPAS)
    • Manage data outputs from BPAS according to company needs.
    • Audit production of crude oil and natural gas well tests, NGL’s, well downtime, and daily production
    • Maintain BPAS to allocate gas and oil production to individual production entities on daily and monthly basis
    • Monitor daily and monthly production volumes within BPAS
    • Troubleshoots and resolves allocation and reporting issues
    • Import/Update and trouble-shoot non-operated production data
    • Communicates with field users, office staff, area managers, and executives regarding production data on regular basis
    • Gather monthly sales data for allocation and preparation for accounting accruals
    • Work with Revenue, Joint Interest Billing, and Land to ensure that units are properly booked
    • Deliver accurate Month-to-Date and Week-over-Week production volumes on weekly basis
    • File State and Federal regulatory reports for production, as required
    • Performs purchaser statement reconciliation on monthly basis
    • Perform variance analysis on production data, downtime, and well tests
    • Troubleshoots and resolves production issues outside of BPAS

    Qualifications

    • High School Diploma or equivalent
    • Associate/Bachelor degree in information systems or related technical/scientific/business discipline
    • Equivalent combination of education and experience (Preferred)
    • Certificate in related technical/scientific/business discipline
    • Typically at least 10 years’ experience in oil and gas
    • Expert knowledge of production accounting practices
    • Adept at working with multiple departments to resolve issues and implement solutions
    • Knowledge of production operations and production data flow within an oil and gas company
    • Demonstrated ability in numerical/quantitative analysis, financial models and reports
    • Advanced skills in multiple Windows based software
    • Experience working with production data software systems, allocations, and databases
    • Skilled in providing training to end-users in the field and office
    • Proven ability to meet deadlines, set priorities, and achieve positive results
    • Can trouble-shoot and resolve varied system and software issues
    • Capable of filing regulatory reports with limited training
